Two givens: First, excellent teaching is key to student success. Second, as a nation, we don’t provide enough support to new teachers and too many (40-50% in the first five years) leave the profession. What should Boston do to better support, develop and retain new teachers? One answer comes from our friends at Wheelock College’s Aspire Institute.They are inviting district, charter and Catholic school teachers in Boston to participate in their Teacher Support Project (TSP).
